2nd MLC-SLM Workshop to Follow INTERSPEECH 2026

Following the conference, the 2nd Multilingual Conversational Speech Language Model (MLC-SLM) Workshop will take place in Sydney on October 2, 2026, bringing together researchers and industry experts working on multilingual conversational speech and Speech LLM technologies.

The full-day workshop will feature five keynote presentations, the 2nd MLC-SLM Challenge 2026 Summary and Awards Ceremony, Oral Sessions, and a Poster Session.

The keynote lineup includes Yonghong Yan from the Institute of Acoustics, Chinese Academy of Sciences; Jinyu Li from Microsoft; Kai Yu from Shanghai Jiao Tong University; Hung-yi Lee from National Taiwan University; and Shinnosuke Takamichi from Keio University.

The workshop will also announce the final results of the 2nd MLC-SLM Challenge 2026 and recognize the winning teams. Participating teams will present their systems, technical approaches, and research results in multilingual conversational speech recognition and understanding.

This year's Challenge expanded its language and accent coverage with Tagalog, Urdu, and Turkish, as well as Canadian French, Mexican Spanish, and Brazilian Portuguese. The competition focused on two tasks: multilingual conversational speech logging and recognition and multilingual conversational speech understanding.
