Chinese Consul General in Brisbane Sun Zhaoyang Pays a Courtesy Call on Ms Carrington, Director of the Queensland State Office of the Australian Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade
On 7 September 2026, Consul-General Dr Sun Zhaoyang paid a courtesy call on Ms Carrington, Director of the Queensland State Office of the Australian Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT).
Dr Sun briefed Ms Carrington on China’s achievements in economic and social development, as well as the Global Governance Initiative proposed by China. He stressed that China and Australia should implement the consensus reached by the two leaders, jointly advance exchanges and cooperation across all sectors, and deliver greater benefits to the two peoples.
Ms Carrington welcomed Consul-General Dr Sun to his new post. She noted that the DFAT Queensland State Office will provide necessary convenience for the Consul-General’s performance of duties, so as to jointly foster the continued sound development of China-Australia and China-Queensland relations.
Consul-General Dr SUN arrived at his post on 31 August 2026.
